I Hear You

By: Amanda Tatum

I hear your voice,
Rumbling threw my mind.
I hear you speaking,
The words of hurt.
Humming the tone,
Of suicide.
Telling me,
I am already nothing.
Forcing me to believe,
I am nothing.
I will always be nothing.
I hear your voice,
Rumbling threw my mind.
I hear you speaking,
The words of hurt.
Humming the tone,
Of brokeness.
Telling me,
I will never be good enough.
Forcing me to believe,
I am worthless.
Unworthy of life.
I hear your voice,
Rumbling threw my mind.
I hear you speaking,
The words of hurt.
Humming the tone,
Of forgetfulness.
Telling me,
I am easy to forget.
Forcing me to believe,
Suicide is down my path.
I am lifeless.
I hear your voice,
Rumbling threw my mind.
I hear you speaking,
The words of hurt.
Humming the tone,
Of alone.
But I am not any of these.
I will never be.
I will fight the battle of your voice.
I will live till I am elder.
Letting the voice speak.
As if it has a mind of its own.
Not bothering me.
